OEM & ODM Manufacturing FAQ

What is the difference between OEM and ODM clothing manufacturing?

OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturing) means you provide the product specifications — tech pack, measurements, sample or confirmed direction — and KAOUYOU executes production to your requirements. ODM (Original Design Manufacturing) means you share references, a moodboard or product concept, and our team supports the development work — fabric selection, fit, pattern and sampling — before moving into production. Both routes follow the same quality and delivery process.

Can I start without a complete tech pack?

Yes. Many brands begin with reference images, a physical sample, sketches or a product concept. Our team will help translate your direction into a development plan with fabric suggestions, fit guidance and sample making. The more information you provide, the faster we can align on product direction and confirm feasibility.

What is the typical MOQ?

Typical MOQ starts from approximately 100 pieces, depending on the style, fabric, color breakdown, decoration technique and project requirements. Final MOQ is confirmed after review.

How do sampling and revisions work?

After the product direction is confirmed, we prepare patterns and produce a first sample for your review. You evaluate fit, construction and details, then provide feedback. Sample feedback and revision requirements are reviewed during development. The number, cost and timing of revision rounds depend on the project and are confirmed before proceeding. Once you approve the sample, it becomes the production reference for bulk manufacturing.

How is quality managed before delivery?

Requirements are aligned before production. KAOUYOU manages production-stage spot checks and conducts a 100% final appearance and workmanship inspection before packing. Project-specific testing or third-party inspection can be discussed separately.
