WHAT YOU CAN START WITH
Start with the product information you already have.
You do not need to have every specification confirmed before contacting us. The information you provide helps us identify what is ready, what still needs development and what must be confirmed before sampling begins.
Tech Pack
Specifications, measurements, construction notes, artwork and material requirements that are already defined.
Sketch
A product drawing that communicates silhouette, proportion, features and intended details.
Reference Images
Visual references for fit, fabric direction, construction, wash, decoration or overall product character.
Physical Sample
An existing garment that can be reviewed for measurements, fit, construction and material direction.
Early Product Idea
A product category and creative direction that still requires feasibility review and specification development.
The more complete the information, the more accurately we can evaluate feasibility, sampling requirements, preliminary pricing and timing. KAOUYOU supports product development for manufacturing; we do not position the service as full creative direction or brand design.
BEFORE SAMPLING
Review the product before committing to development.
Before sample work begins, the project is reviewed against the intended design, materials, techniques, quantity and timeline. This helps identify issues early and creates a clearer development route.
- Product category and intended use
- Silhouette, fit and key proportions
- Construction complexity
- Fabric and trim availability
- Print, embroidery, wash or finishing feasibility
- Target quantity and typical MOQ
- Preliminary cost factors
- Expected sampling timeline
Preliminary estimates depend on the available project information. Final pricing is confirmed after the required design, material, technique and quantity details have been reviewed.
DEVELOPMENT FOCUS
The decisions that shape the first sample.
Silhouette & Fit
Oversized, boxy, regular, cropped, wide-leg and other fit directions are translated into measurable proportions.
Pattern & Construction
Patterns, seams, panels, pockets, hoods, collars, openings and internal structures are developed or adjusted for the intended garment.
Fabric Direction
Composition, weight, hand feel, structure, surface and intended wash or performance direction are reviewed against the product.
Techniques & Finishing
Prints, embroidery, appliqué, washes, distressing and specialist finishes are evaluated for the selected fabric and construction.
Trims & Branding
Zippers, buttons, drawcords, labels, patches, hangtags and other brand details are coordinated with the sample.
Production Feasibility
The sample is not only reviewed for appearance. Construction, materials and techniques must also be practical for the intended bulk order.
FROM BRIEF TO APPROVED SAMPLE
A focused development process before bulk production.
Project Review
We review the product references, specifications, target quantity and timing to identify the appropriate development route.
Direction Confirmation
Fit, construction, material direction, techniques and branding requirements are clarified before sample work begins.
Material Coordination
Required fabrics and trims are sourced or confirmed according to availability, project minimums and the intended sample result.
Pattern Development
Patterns are created or adjusted according to the agreed silhouette, measurements and construction.
First Sample
The first garment sample is produced for review of fit, proportion, construction, material and visual details.
Review & Revision
The client provides consolidated feedback. Required pattern, measurement, construction or detail changes are reviewed and applied.
Final Approval
Once the revised sample is confirmed, it becomes the approved reference for preparing the bulk order.

WHAT GETS REVIEWED
A sample is more than a visual reference.
The development sample is reviewed to confirm both the intended product direction and its suitability for production.
- Overall silhouette and fit
- Key measurements and proportions
- Fabric weight, hand feel and appearance
- Construction and sewing details
- Pocket, hood, collar and opening structures
- Placement and scale of artwork
- Trim function and branding details
- Wash, color and finishing direction
- Feasibility for bulk production

Final bulk tolerances and inspection requirements are confirmed according to the product and client requirements. Washed and manually finished garments may show controlled variation within the approved range.
DEVELOPMENT PLANNING
Timing depends on the product and the work required.
Timing begins after the required information, sample fees and materials are confirmed. Complex structures, special materials and specialist techniques may require additional time.
MOQ, development requirements and sample fees are confirmed according to the product, fabric, color, technique and trim requirements.
